How do I export an Apple Music playlist as a text file?
Quick answer
On a Mac, open the Music app, select the playlist in the sidebar, choose File > Library > Export Playlist, and make sure Text files is chosen as the format before you click Save.
- Open Music and click the playlist under Playlists in the sidebar.
- Choose File > Library > Export Playlist.
- In the save window, set the format pop-up to Text files, pick a folder, and save.
You can open the file in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Apple notes that everything from each song's Info window gets exported, not just the columns you can see. Expect a lot of extra columns. Delete everything except Name, Artist and Album if you only want a clean list.
On a Windows PC, iTunes has the same File > Library > Export Playlist command with Text files in the Save as type menu. The newer Apple Music app for Windows doesn't seem to offer it, and Apple doesn't document one. iPhone has no export at all.
No Mac? TuneMyMusic can sign in to Apple Music and save a playlist as a TXT or CSV file from any browser.
