SongShift Review 2026: Is It Safe, Free and Worth It?

SongShift is an iPhone and iPad app that moves playlists, albums and songs between 13 services (SongShift FAQ). Apple partnered with SongShift for the Transfer Music option in Apple Music (MacRumors), which is why you'll see "transfer powered by SongShift" in iPhone Settings.
Is SongShift safe?
Yes. Apple chose it for its own transfer tool, and it connects through each service's sign-in. SongShift says it only reads your source library and never changes or deletes anything there (SongShift).
Pricing
Playlist transfers are free. SongShift Pro starts at $6.99 a month and adds batch setup, faster matching, ongoing playlist sync and unlimited service connections.
Is there an Android version?
No. SongShift is only on iPhone and iPad. On Android, use Apple Music's transfer in the Apple Music app, or a web tool like TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz.
