Can you export an Apple Music playlist?
Quick answer
Yes, but only the Music app on a Mac has a real export button. Select the playlist in the sidebar and choose File > Library > Export Playlist, then save it as XML or as a text file.
Apple says the file holds information about the playlist, not the songs themselves. That's fine for a backup or a song list. XML is the format to pick if you want to import the playlist into Music on another Mac. Text is better if you want to read it, open it in a spreadsheet, or feed it to a transfer tool. To grab every playlist at once, use File > Library > Export Library instead.
On iPhone, iPad or Android there's no export option. The easiest workaround is a web tool: TuneMyMusic lets you sign in to Apple Music as the source and download your playlists as a CSV or TXT file. It works from any browser, including on a Windows PC.
If what you really want is the playlist on another service, skip the file. Apple's own tool at privacy.apple.com only sends playlists to YouTube Music, so for Spotify or Tidal use a transfer tool instead. Our Apple Music to Spotify guide walks through the options.
