Do songs that don't match count toward the free limit?
Quick answer
On FreeYourMusic, no: only songs that actually arrive count. Soundiiz's cap is on the tracks you select before matching, and TuneMyMusic doesn't document how it counts misses.
| Tool | Unmatched songs count? |
|---|---|
| FreeYourMusic | No, only songs added count |
| Soundiiz | They use up the 200 selected tracks for that transfer |
| TuneMyMusic | Not documented |
FreeYourMusic says only songs that really arrive count. Anything marked Not matched or Adding failed doesn't touch your allowance, and fixing a wrong match with rematch is free.
Soundiiz Free lets you select up to 200 tracks per transfer, and the first 200 are picked by default. That cap is on what you select, so a track that fails to match still took one of those 200 slots. It doesn't matter much, though: there's no running total, so you can just run another transfer.
TuneMyMusic lists the songs that weren't transferred at the end. Tick Show only missing tracks to see them, and download them as a CSV. It doesn't say whether those misses come off your 500 free songs.
If your library has lots of rare tracks, the FreeYourMusic review covers its free plan in more detail.
