How do I copy a Spotify playlist?
Quick answer
Open the playlist, tap the three dots, choose Add to other playlist, then pick New playlist. You get a copy you own and can edit, and it works on someone else's playlist too.
If you don't see Add to other playlist, update the app; it rolled out gradually and older versions lack it. On desktop there's a fallback that always works: click the first song, press Ctrl+A (Windows) or Cmd+A (Mac) to select everything, then right-click and choose Add to playlist. Spotify also lets you drag and drop tracks into a playlist in the sidebar.
Copying someone else's playlist is better than just saving it with the + button. A saved playlist still belongs to its owner, so if they edit or delete it, your version changes too. A copy is yours, and later changes they make won't show up in it.
Want the copy on a different Spotify account? Share the link to the other account and copy it there, or follow our guide to moving a playlist to another Spotify account. If you just want a file of the track list, export it to CSV.
