Who owns TuneMyMusic?

Updated

Quick answer

TuneMyMusic is an independent, privately held company run by its founders. Spotify uses it to power its built-in playlist import, but Spotify doesn't own it.

TuneMyMusic doesn't publish much about itself. Its terms of use and privacy policy only say "Tune My Music," with no address or parent company. A 2019 SoundMachine partnership announcement quotes Nir and Yuval as the founders, and there's no public record of a sale or outside owner since.

The Spotify link is a partnership, not an acquisition. In November 2025, Spotify announced a TuneMyMusic integration: you tap Import your music at the bottom of Your Library and the app hands you off to TuneMyMusic to bring playlists in. TuneMyMusic's homepage also lists official partnerships with YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and TIDAL.

So if you hit a problem with Spotify's import, it's TuneMyMusic's support you'll end up talking to. On its own site, TuneMyMusic moves up to 500 songs free, and Premium adds unlimited transfers and syncs. Our TuneMyMusic review covers the limits, and the import guide walks through Spotify's version.
