Who owns Soundiiz?
Quick answer
Soundiiz is owned by the two friends who started it in Nantes, France, in 2013: Thomas Magnano and Benoit Herbreteau. It hasn't been bought by a streaming service or a bigger company.
The Soundiiz about page says the founders chose not to raise money from investors and plan to stay independent. Magnano handles the back end, partner deals and finance, while Herbreteau builds the interface. The page still describes the team as the two of them.
The legal name you'll see on paperwork is different. Soundiiz's terms page says the site and its short-link domain are operated by BRICKOFT, so that's the name that may show up on invoices or in the privacy policy. Wikipedia lists it as a private company based in France, founded in January 2013.
Why it matters: Soundiiz isn't tied to Spotify, Apple or any other service, which is part of why it supports so many of them. Being in France also means it falls under GDPR, and you can revoke its access from your music accounts at any time.
